Creating music for an animated short film is always a rewarding challenge — especially when the project calls for both an original score and the complete sound design.
In Shorticity, a 10-minute animated film, I was responsible for the entire audio layer:
from composing and producing the original soundtrack, through crafting all the sound effects, to handling the final audio postproduction.
A tailor-made original score
The film required a diverse, emotionally nuanced musical palette. I composed a series of original tracks – some subtle and ambient, others rhythmically intense – following the changing dynamics and energy of the animation. The result was a coherent, cinematic soundtrack tightly synced with the story arc.
Sound design and audio details
In parallel with the music, I created a wide range of sound effects — supporting character motion, comedic timing, and environmental transitions. All audio elements were designed from scratch, with special care to match the pace and visual language of the film.
Full postproduction
After composing and designing all the elements, I handled the entire audio postproduction: editing, mixing, and mastering the final version of the film. The final mix ensures a balanced and immersive experience, both online and in presentation screenings.
🎬 Shorticity is a good example of combining music for animated film, creative sound design, and end-to-end audio production.
