Fort Solis – Sound Design Reel
This sound design reel showcases selected moments from Fort Solis, a cinematic sci-fi thriller developed in Unreal Engine 5. During two years, I was working as Lead Sound Designer and Audio Director, being responsible for the full audio production – including sound design, Foley, and audio direction. I was working closely with the game and cinematic teams to bring the world of Fort Solis to life through sound.
Designed to demonstrate the depth and range of my audio work, this reel brings together key gameplay and cutscene sequences to highlight how crafted sound supports tension, atmosphere, and narrative clarity.
Breathing Life Into the Visuals
From the very beginning, my goal was to create a soundscape that feels grounded and believable, while enhancing the game’s cinematic tone and emotional storytelling. Whether it’s the creak of a pressurized airlock, the hiss of a space suit valve, or the distant hum of Martian machinery, every sound was carefully shaped to support immersion and mood.
The audio work covered a broad spectrum:
- Cinematic cutscenes and scripted sequences
- In-game mechanics and interactive sound layers
- Foley for props, astronaut suits, surgical tools, machinery
- Environmental ambiences, sci-fi atmospheres, and room tones
- Custom music composed specifically for narrative moments
- 5.1 surround mixing
This reel is more than a highlight video — it’s a demonstration of how audio becomes an invisible character, guiding the player’s emotions and shaping their perception of the world.
Audio Integration & implementation
All sounds were implemented using Unreal Engine 5 and integrated through FMOD This included:
- Dynamic transitions between gameplay and cinematics
- Real-time environmental reverb and occlusion zones
- Custom spatial audio behavior and propagation
- Adaptive Foley systems and layered responses
- Seamless audio-music cue integration based on game state
- Entire 3D Audio Geometry design
Special attention was given to matching the pacing and rhythm of the narrative, including subtle audio cues that underline character movement, tension buildup, and emotional turning points.
Music for the Game
In addition to sound design and audio direction, I composed an original atmospheric soundtrack for Fort Solis, expanding the game’s emotional palette beyond core gameplay sequences. The result is an 11-track collection of ambient and cinematic pieces, designed to support mood, tension, and introspective moments within the game world.
This Additional Music Soundtrack blends synth textures, subtle harmonic movement, and thematic motifs that reflect the game’s lonely, mysterious setting. While some tracks were composed for in-game use, others were created to deepen the narrative tone in various scenes.

Original Music: Blink of Infinite
The reel also features original music I composed specifically for this project (not included in the game). Blink of Infinite blends ambient electronica with cinematic undertones, mirroring the emotional scope and futuristic setting of Fort Solis. The track will be released as a standalone single across streaming platforms shortly after the reel premiere.
